We were in the car and Haley was talking about upcoming Birthdays. She is anxiously awaiting her Birthday even though it isn't for 4 more months. Her Christmas and birthday list is hanging on the fridge and growing daily. We've been reminding her that the wise men brought Jesus three presents and even though her list is growing, she might not get everything on the list.
She continued to list off Birthday's Daddy is October, Gigi is November, Haley is February. I said, should we make Jesus a cake for His Birthday in December. Haley replied, "Mom, Jesus doesn't want a birthday cake. If he did it would have to be HUGE. But, he lives in my heart and goes with me everywhere that I go. He doesn't need a cake. He lives in here."
So true. Jesus doesn't need a cake. He doesn't need anything that we could ever give him because he has already given us the ultimate gift of life. He delights in us in spite of our shortcomings. He showers us with his grace and goes with us everywhere we go because He is LOVE and He does care about us. What a sweet thing to be reminded of by my 3 year old!
