Haley has spent a lot of time thinking about death as we have approached Easter this year. She has always been curious about it and asked me different questions. We were leaving the mall the other day and she was asking about the blood of Jesus. I explained just as you cut your finger and it bleeds Jesus bled when they hung him on the cross. She then finished that he died so that he could rise from the dead and live in her heart. I agreed.
Then she got quiet and said, "Wait do you hear that, Jesus is whispering...he is saying, Haley I love you." I asked her if she ever spoke back and she said, "Jesus I have been such a good girl". Obviously, our desire for works is part of human nature. I mentioned that she could just say "I love you too" if she wanted. She did and then told me she heard something else.
I hear Granddaddy Max (my Dad's dad who passed away a couple years ago) telling me that he loves me too. He says when I get to heaven he is going to give me a great big hug because he misses me. She is so sweet. She constantly asks me about him and she was only two when he went to heaven. Haley continued spending the day saying, "Happy Easter, Jesus is Risen!"
One thing is certain, Jesus took everything to the cross so that he could look at us all blameless and say, "I love you". He isn't asking us this week to recount all the ways we've served him or honored him, He just wants to hold us, love us and say "I paid the price for YOU and it was worth it all."
Luke 23: 34 Jesus said, "Father, forgive them; they don't know what they're doing."

What an amazing little girl you have - to have such sweet and simple knowledge of such a powerful subject. I love her honesty and her innocence. Thank you for sharing that! :)
