God came to visit

We were coming home from our walk today when Haley started knocking the bottom of the stroller seat with her hand and told me that God was knocking at our door at home. She thought we should hurry home so He didn't leave before we got there. I assured her that He is very patient:)

We got home and Haley ran through the house to open the front door and invite God in. She proceeded to play the piano for God, get Him a drink then show Him the house. After taking Him to her room, she came back in the kitchen and told me that God thought her room was messy and that she had lots of things. I agreed. When it was bath time, God insisted that He take showers instead of baths and then He left. Sweet Haley wondering what it would be like to have God over (Evan was completely confused about who Haley had over and was pretty sure Papa was in the house somewhere:).

Who doesn't wonder what it would be like if God came in person to visit our house. What would He say? What would He do? He would certainly hug us, love on us, invite the neighbors in and tell us that He couldn't be any more happy that we invited Him over. Because, after all, that is what He really wants isn't it, to be invited to live in our house...our hearts. Thank you for living with us every day Lord Jesus, I couldn't and wouldn't want to imagine life any other way!

Revelation 3:20
Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.

Just so you know my day isn't so perfectly precious, I was at the mall getting some Father's Day goodies and the lady at the checkout mentioned what sweet children I had and how well behaved they were. I was feeling pretty good about life when we strolled down past the kid's clothing department and Evan bolted out of the stroller, ran over to a pole that holds a mannequin up, and began dancing like a wild man around the pole. Seriously, I don't make these things up. It was right by the checkout and everyone was staring. Whenever I would try to grab him he would run to another pole and dance. The whole shopping experience didn't come to a pleasant end.

She's just so sweet. You need to buy her the book "If Jesus Came to Visit Me" by Laura Roman Lord. :o)
