Hospital Take Two

Just when I think I have the house mostly Evan proofed, he finds a little make-up mirror of Haley's and eats one of the batteries.

Evan was in the living room with Haley when he came into the playroom and opened his mouth and pointed inside. I asked if he ate something and he nodded "yes". I asked what he ate and he opened his hand revealing 3 small watch batteries. The mirror he had run through the room with seconds before preciously held 4 batteries.

I began my inquisition and asked Haley if she saw him eat the batteries and she replied, "I think so". "Did you SEE him eat the battery?" "I think so" she replied. She did not understand my need to know for sure if he swallowed the battery. Haley was watching a show on tv after her nap and what four year old watching television is a reliable source of information?

I called my doctor who was in a meeting. Then thinking time might be of the essence, I called another doctor friend and the consensus is that watch batteries if not lodged in the esophagus can just past through but you need to check and make sure it isn't stuck. We dutifully made the trip to get the x-ray, just in case. Jed saw the battery. He did indeed eat it. It was resting peacefully in the bottom of his stomach.

This little guy is wearing my nerves thin. We are going to have to step up the prayer coverage over him and trust God to watch over this little guy every day.

Last night certainly was eventful! :)
How did Evan sleep last night? Was he up bright and early and back to normal this morning? Been thinking about y'all since we left last night!
