Parades aren't what they use to be. I am not sure if my perspective has just changed as an adult but things seem a little less exciting with too many rules. No throwing candy...too messy. No horses...again too messy. There wasn't even a marching band. We use to spend HOURS as kids stuffing tissue paper in chicken wire to spell things like "Girl Scouts" and now they just write things on poster board and tape it to the back of a pick-up truck. Maybe I need to build my own float next year and stop complaining....
Anyway, we still had a great time this beautiful 4th of July morning and are thankful to be American citizens. We are so blessed to be protected daily by all the men and women who have fought to keep this country safe. God Bless America!

I'm with you on the "new" parades...we went to downtown McKinney for the kids' first parade....there were clowns and motorcycles and even a few pieces of candy, but no marching band.
Love these pictures! But the parade....
Actually, every time I am with you is better than any parade I've ever been to. If we are together, I am even willing to give the 4th of July Plano Parade another try.
I love you all!
