Evan's World

Evan has hit the 100 questions stage in life where every sentence starts with, "Mommy, why"
or "Mommy, what" or "Mommy, how". Although it is so precious after the 30th "Mommy..." I start to find myself wondering what it would take to distract him or trick him into playing something that involves no talking. For a little guy who didn't talk for quite a while, he is sure making up for all his words now (I guess even when he wasn't talking he wasn't quiet so I am not sure what I expected).

Evan's mind also works in the most amazing ways. Ways that I can never quite understand or wrap my "girly" brain around. Maybe I should turn the tables around here and start asking all the questions. "Why do you have to involve some sort of potty talk into every sentence?" "Why must you always want to cut my eyeballs out?" "Have you ever seen that happen?" "Why must you talk about your privates and everyone else's?" "Do you ever just want to sit quietly and enjoy the car ride without any questions?" "Must you really try to karate chop me or could you just give me a high-five instead?"

"Oh, and where do you get all your sophisticated words?" When asking Evan about school he replies...."Sam (renamed to protect the innocent) is so weird Mommy." I ask why he is weird thinking he doesn't even know what weird means. Evan answers, "You know Mom...him is just so strange." Evan, you crack me up!

Evan's world is super fun and we can't imagine life without his funny sayings. In fact, what would I do all day if my social director son didn't pop out of bed, dress himself then come into my room at 6:45 and ask "where are we going and who are we playing with today". I better get busy!
