Fancy Nancy

This past August Haley told me that she knew what kind of Birthday Party she wanted on her 5th Birthday in February....A "Fancy Nancy" Party. She was certain then and certain this January, 6 months later, when she officially declared that she still wanted a "Fancy Nancy" Birthday party so that she and her friends could dress up in fancy clothes and celebrate her birthday.

Well, she couldn't have been any more in tune with the Fancy Nancy trend sweeping the nation. These precious books by Jane O'Connor are truly a delight. They follow a little girl named Nancy who doesn't want anything to ever be plain, only fancy. She wants frilly socks, posh accessories and glitter galore. French is her favorite language because everything in French sounds fancy! Adorable.

Well, I couldn't be more excited. Haley's party was adorned with feather boas, pink sprinkles, high heels, jewels, bows, and glitter to the max. The girls arrived and were literally throwing off their coats to dive into the dress up box and pick out something fancy. Then, the girls walked the "Roseberry catwalk" into the living room to show off their dashing new duds. After some getting polished, making pearl necklaces & doing a little coloring it was time for tea (or fizzy pink lemonade). The party was a success and the girls laughed, giggled, wiggled and partied into the evening. What a wonderful sight to see the girls twirling and dancing together. I think they all felt fancy and I hope they all felt loved.

We LOVE Fancy Nancy. Sure looks like a smashing party. Happy Birthday Haley! We had to postpone our party due to the blizzard. We hope to have it today!
