Haley's 6th Birthday Art Party

This weekend we celebrated Haley's upcoming 6th Birthday with an art party. We had so much fun. Thanks to an amazing Gigi...we had a canvas outlined with each girl's initial and some flowers with a border taped off. Each girl arrived and found a personalized apron with coordinating artist's beret to wear. After a quick lesson on mixing paint colors (from the amazing Gigi again) each girl (and little brother of course) painted her own canvas.

It was so precious to see what each girl would select. I will say there was TONS of pink at this painting party:) We had to let the art dry a bit (sweet friend Amy helped the process along with a blow dryer) while Dad read, "Ain't Gonna Paint No More (twice while we stalled). The girls also made coffee filter butterflies which turned out precious.

Then, we took off the tape and reapplied it over the painting so that the girls could paint a striped border around the edges. They turned out so precious. Everyone had so much fun creating their own masterpiece. While Gigi and Dad put some finishing outlines on the paintings to add definition the girls created some valentines. So much FUN!

I am so thankful for all the moms, grandparents and friends who made this art party such a success. I LOVE planning parties and can't wait to get my next one underway.

Oh, and the food was artistically delicious....crayons (fruit kabobs), paint (cake balls), brushes (chocolate covered pretzels) and other colorful goodies.

Soooo cute, Stacy! I may have to steal some of these ideas for a future art party for Nora someday :)
